Hello Legends,

after a whole week of asking questions, now it’s time to answer them. But first of all, we would like to say thank you! Thank you for the great curiosity and interest in Legend. We have received many questions and exciting ideas that we would like to respond to. Since we can’t do all of that in one news, we will answer them in 2 more blogposts.

Before we get to the first question that has been on the minds of a lot of you, we would like to respond to RyMe’s comment about what tools (plugins, etc.) our build team is working with. The team was very happy about the question, which is why we will address this topic in another blogpost in the near future.

But enough talking – let’s start with the first question!

The Legend MMORPG

A considerable amount of your questions were about our Minecraft role-playing game, Legend. As most of you have probably heard, the Legend MMO was put on hold about a year ago. After a short period of consideration, we then dedicated ourselves as a team to the Minecraft Legend minigames network.

Unfortunately, we have to admit to ourselves that the communication has been rather poor so far, and we need to be much more transparent with you when making such a big change. We will try to do that in the future.

In a nutshell – the reason why the Legend MMO is on hold is money.

When Kevin (Gamerstime) announced the news, some community members approached him and asked if they could support the project via Patreon or Kickstarter. We decided against it, because we don’t want to raise money if there is no guarantee that the MMORPG will ever be finished. Also, we are talking about an undefined amount of money in the high range.

We have a big vision of how Legend should be and also a lot of ambitions to make it so. But to realize such a project we also need very experienced team members like programmers, game designers and artists who should be paid for their work.

Out of this situation the idea of a Legend Network with a minigames section was born to fulfill our dream of the Legend MMO in the long run and to be able to finance it. Through this, each supporting person gets a material return in the form of a rank or cosmetic content, for their money.

Of course, this doesn’t mean that we work on the Minigames Network with less enthusiasm and heart and soul than on the MMORPG. That’s why we are even more happy about your support, no matter which project we are working on with the Legend Team.

We hope that we could bring you up to date with this statement. For now, it’s full focus on our network and be sure, if there is something new about the Legend MMO, we will inform you!

Why we are betting on the new PVP system

Another question we were asked is about the new Minecraft PVP system and why we want to use it. First of all, a short explanation for all Minecraft players who haven’t been playing Minecraft for a very long time and therefore don’t know the differences.

With version 1.9 in 2016, Mojang caused a lot of excitement in the Minecraft community. In this update, the developer studio had decided to completely overhaul the game’s combat system. At that point, the PvP scene in Minecraft was already established and not a fan of the overhaul.

Our focus for our game modes at Legend is on the fun and experience factor. We want to allow every person, old, young, new, or rank 1 to have a good time without getting frustrated.

During our first Founder Test in April we got a lot of positive feedback from our players regarding the new combat system. Another reason why we are focusing on the new combat system is because we want to always operate on the latest Minecraft version with the network, so that we can incorporate new blocks and features into our game concepts.

What about the other questions?

Our first Q&A was a great success and we hope you enjoy it as much as we are. Since we don’t want to write just one paragraph on the topics, we will address some other questions next Sunday. There we will explain our plans for future Founder Tests and why game modes are “perfected” before we release them!

We hope this foretaste will make you look forward to the next post even more!
