What an amazing showcase that was! Yesterday, October 1st, we had the next big and for now last showcase before the release of the PlayLegend network. There we informed you about the current status and also announced some new details about what will happen after the release.

In this blog post we will summarize the showcase and give you some more insights. If you missed the whole spectacle, that’s no problem at all, as the VOD is available right below this paragraph, so you can watch it afterwards.

There were also new announcements for all hardcore PlayLegend fans in the showcase.

What is the current status?

Since the last showcase and Foundertest, the PlayLegend team has grown. The network now has over 60 people working together to take Minecraft multiplayer to the next level. Our development team has expanded to 16 developers, which has opened up many new opportunities.

As for the development of the network, we are on a very good track. We are currently working on the final features we need for the release of PlayLegend. The only thing we need to do extensively now is testing. That’s why you are invited to our next Foundertest, which will take place from 07 – 09 October at 6pm.

If we find out at the next Foundertest that our infrastructure is able to cope well with the amount of founders, we will organize a last big Foundertest in which Trymacs will also participate. And as soon as everything goes well there, we will be able to announce a safe release date.

We hope that by being transparent you will better understand what we are working on right now. We want to release PlayLegend in a state that we, but also you, can be happy with. Because after the release, we want to fully focus on future updates and content and not on problems that could be avoided.

Well, does one of the job postings appeal to you? We are looking forward to working with you!

New “The Dropper” maps and in-house graphics for the server!

For the last showcase, the Founderpack goal for 1000 Founderpacks sold was reached. There we promised 25 new “The Dropper” maps for release and 25 more for Season 2, which our build team has already finished building. We already wrote about the new maps in a blog post a few weeks ago, which you can read here.

In addition, the network has also been graphically upgraded in the last few weeks. Because we want to use the server texturepack not only to show the default Minecraft textures in our own style, but also to add completely custom graphics and menus.

Our goal is not only to design the menus in the lobby ourselves, but also to give our games their own overlays so you can see at a glance what’s important right now. This will also allow us to think outside the box for future in-house game modes.

Since this topic is certainly interesting for you and we have a lot to tell you about it, we would like to talk about it separately in a future blog post.

With our own texturepack, we have many innovative opportunities.

Unser erstes eigenes großes Spiel – Cactusclicker!

Probably the most anticipated game from PlayLegend at the moment is Cactusclicker. Cactusclicker will probably also captivate you with its unique concept and game design. The goal of the game is to create the largest and most efficient cactus factory and thus climb up the leaderboards. By combining idle, clicker and tower defense, Cactusclicker offers the optimal variation.

And since visual goals are much nicer than “just” grinding to a rank, your entire factory is customizable. The factory can generally get a new look, but also smaller details, like the cactus field or the store of cactus macs. If you want to know more about Cactusclicker, you can read more in the Cactusclicker category of our news section.

Are you ready to take over your own cactus factory?

The great MMORPG and Skycraft

We were also able to give a small update on the topic of MMORPG in this showcase. We have not forgotten all our PlayLegend MMO fans, because postponed is not canceled. We want to emphasize again that the MMORPG is on hold and not stopped.

Realistically, we are currently as close to the MMO ́s release as we have ever been before. Without wanting to give false hope with that, because it will take several years to implement our plans. But many of the systems we have already developed now will also be essential for the role-playing game.

But even if it will take several years, we will give you many ways to bridge the time until release. Therefore, in the showcase we briefly introduced our planned mode Skycraft. Skycraft is one of the big goals we want to achieve with PlayLegend, because a mode of this scale needs a lot of work and financial support.

The mode will combine the best elements of Skyblock and RPGs, giving you the opportunity to explore the flying islands of this incredible world with your own flying ship. Through a selection of many jobs, all interdependent, production chains are created that require the cooperation of the community. We think that this also makes it clear once again that PlayLegend will not be a pure mini-game network and we already have many ideas for the coming years.

Currently, however, the focus is on the release and the first season. We will be quiet about Skycraft for now, but you can be sure that we will let you know when we have the resources to start working on the mode! We are looking forward to the future and hope for your support!

The capital of Skycraft is a place full of creativity and drive!

A glimpse of the future

I guess you didn’t expect that. At the end of the showcase, we made one last big announcement. And in case you were wondering, “Wait a minute, the network hasn’t even opened yet and you’re already talking about season 2?”. Yes, that’s exactly what we’re doing! The release of the network is the beginning of a long journey where you can look forward to lots of new and, most importantly, unique content.

We want to develop the network sustainably over a long period of time, which is why we are already working on future updates before the release. We have also been asked several times what will happen if the number of players is below expectations after the release. Our answer is quite clear – we will continue to develop the server, respond to community feedback if something is not so well received, and make the server better day by day.

Get out of here quickly …
