Dear Legends,

for many people, summer vacation starts next week, when you finally have time to do things you’ve been putting off for far too long! So this week we would like to tell you about the tools that are used by our building team. Here we are only scratching the surface, as it’s obviously a very complex topic and requires experience. Also, we will announce something else, since our Q&A has received so much positive feedback!

A red lichen covers the rocky outcrops of this area.

Create and adjust blocks

In order for our building team to be able to make such huge buildings and maps at all, they use some tools that facilitate and relieve them of repetitive processes. It should be mentioned that each builder has their own preferences and ways of working, and unfortunately we can’t share the golden recipe to the perfect building.

There are many plugins on the Legend-Build-Server, but the team has a handful of plugins that are used most often. Probably the most well-known plugin of these is WorldEdit. WorldEdit has been around for many years in the Minecraft-Community and is an absolute general purpose tool. You can create, copy and rotate blocks with it, but also exchange them.

There are also many extensions for WorldEdit, which are based on this powerful plugin. Of these, we prefer to use Arceon. This extension is mainly used when we want to create huge land masses and basic structures. For this, we also use, depending on the situation, the plugin GoBrush.

The job of a builder also includes coloring the created blocks!

Details and texture

Now that we have already created many blocks, they also need to be adjusted. Here, VoxelSniper is mainly used for the so-called “terraforming” in different situations, i.e. rough surfaces can be smoothed, or pointed rock spires can be created from round stone structures.

The last plugin we would like to mention here is GoPaint. As the name might suggest, GoPaint is mainly about texturing blocks, which can turn a huge diamond-block-structure into a mountain with lots of interesting details.

Due to a variety of different blocks, this rock face is much more worth seeing.

Building  Livestream

Of course, such a short description is not enough to understand the many advantages and functions of the presented plugins. That’s why on Tuesday, 07/05/2022, at 5 pm we will be live on our Twitch channel. There we would like to continue to discuss this topic and answer your questions about these tools.

In addition, we will use the mentioned plugins together with you to create a Cactusclicker Fabrikskin. We can already reveal that all fantasy fans can be excited about the theme of the skin! We would be happy if you tune in!

With this, we have already reached the end of this week. Finally, we would like to point out that we are still looking for talented Minecraft builders to join our team. You can find out more and apply on our application page!
