Last weekend it was that time again. The gates of Legend were open for our Founders and we can already say it – the second Founder Test was legendary. We had almost 450 concurrent players and over 1200 unique connections to the Legend network, which sent our servers reeling at moments.

But that’s exactly why we do founder testing before release! We learned a lot over the weekend about our infrastructure and the resources we need, and have already been able to identify many bugs that we never would have discovered without these masses of players. Even though it jerked several times and crashed rounds, everyone was happy and understanding.

What’s the next step?

Maybe you’re wondering now what our next steps are, so we’d like to give you a little preview of what’s coming next. For the next Foundertest we would like to update the whole network to Minecraft version 1.19.2 to be able to use the new blocks and features of the version. We also want to continue working on the server resource pack and add new GUIs that will make Legend shine in a new light.

One of the cornerstones of Legend is engagement with the community. It’s nice when the server team likes everything, but if you don’t want to play our games, it doesn’t help anyone. That’s why we want to incorporate the community’s feedback on the network. For example, towards the end of the weekend, some of you requested that TheDropper rounds not end immediately on the first person to finish. We appreciate the feedback and therefore plan for Dropper to require the top 3 to finish for a round to be over.

Become a building legend!

Even though the weekend is over, the fun doesn’t stop. Recently, our building event has reopened, where every person has the opportunity to prove themselves in front of our building team. You can participate in the event via the IP event.playlegend.net and with Minecraft version 1.18.1. This time, the building event is not limited to time but will remain open permanently.

When you enter the server, you will be asked to link your Minecraft account to your Discord account so that we can contact you if we like your builds. After verification, you can also start your first plot right away. This time we don’t prescribe a theme for you. So surprise us with your creative building ideas.

We realize that your first plot may not be perfect right away, which is why we’ve included the 4 ranks: Traveler, Scholar, Grandmaster, and Legend to guide you on your path to becoming a Builder. Once you reach Legend status, there is a possibility that you can become part of the Legend building team.

But what do we want to see from you? The plots are evaluated in 3 categories: Overall Effect, Terra, and Buildings. So even on your relatively small plot, make sure you take all the evaluation criteria into account. Since setting all the blocks by hand would be very time-consuming, WorldEdit and VoxelSniper are available at the building event.
