The zombie waves are fundamentally about defending against the ever-increasing zombie waves. The player has the possibility to decide for himself via the menu whether the zombie waves are activated in his game or not. The easiest way to fend off the zombies is the normal sword, which can be obtained from the Forgemacs. This can also be improved over time with the points collected by killing zombies. Players can also improve their personal attributes to make it easier to defeat zombies. These attributes include vitality, strength, and dexterity. The distributable attribute points can be obtained by increasing the player level. The player level increases as you collect cacti. You can buy extra towers and bridges to support you in battle. These cause passive damage to the zombies and can of course also be improved. The improvements include, for example, the range of the towers or the slowing down of the zombies on the bridge. Depending on the expansion level of the buildings, their appearance also changes.

But what is the player’s goal in fending off the zombie waves?

First, it should be said that the zombies are very fond of the cacti in the middle of the factory and would like to eat them up. Thus, the player loses part of his collected cacti as soon as one of the zombies successfully reaches the middle platform. However, if you have successfully defeated a wave of zombies, the player receives experience points for the sword he used, souls, and with a small probability, cactus needles. These cactus needles can be used to purchase loot boxes from the cactusmacs. These loot boxes contain farmers with different levels of rarity and properties.

The farmers you get can be used in the semi-automated farms and they build cacti there by themselves. Over time, these accumulate in the warehouse of the semi-automated farm. However, the warehouse only has a certain capacity and must be emptied regularly by the player so that the farmer can continue to fill it with cacti. However, if you draw a legendary farmer from the loot boxes, he also has an ability. For example, there is a chance for a loot box when mining a golden cactus or the chance of getting one is increased. Several legendary farmers can also be used in combination.

Souls are another essential currency in the game. This currency will only be paid out after a game reset. The player has the option of resetting his score at any time via his menu. He loses everything except his souls, which he has collected up to the current score. All cacti, farmers, and talents will also remain.

More talents can be bought from the Soulmacs in the Soul Room with the souls you get. The player only gets access to the soul room after the first reset of his game status. For example, the talents can affect the yield of cactus or the rewards of zombie waves. In addition, research times can be accelerated or several types of research can be started at the same time. These are just a few of the many talents out there. With each reset, the player progresses better and faster and will not be able to avoid the reset mechanics and the souls associated with it due to the pressure of his competitors. The ultimate goal is still to be the best on the seasonal leaderboard.

The game mechanics and options described above are not necessarily final and can change at any time!
