With the start of Season 5, we’ve completely revamped and fundamentally improved the entire system behind modifiers – the effects on weapons, armor, tools, and more. In this blog post, we’ll explain the key changes and what they mean for your gameplay.
💰 New Coin Chance Logic
Previously, coin chance capped at 100% – meaning a mob would always drop coins once, and that was it. Now, things work completely differently:
Example:
You have 120% coin chance.
→ You are guaranteed to get coins once.
→ And you have a 20% chance to get them a second time.
The higher your coin chance, the more often you can be rewarded – up to 500% or more is possible! In the best case, a mob can now drop coins up to five times at once.
✨ Multi-Hit Crystal Adjusted
The Multi-Hit Crystal now only affects the portal, not coin drops.
This means: even if the crystal triggers “3 hits,” you will not automatically receive triple coins.
⚙️ Crystal of Gear – Change in Progress
A frequently mentioned point is the Crystal of Gear, which gives a fixed coin value (flat amount). Currently, this is added at the end of the formula. We are working on adjusting it so that it’s calculated at the beginning – allowing percentage values from coin chance & other modifiers to apply to it as well. This will make the system much more logical and fair. We’re not yet sure if this change will be ready in time for launch, but we’re giving it our all.
🌲 How Modifiers Over 100% Work Now
The new logic doesn’t just apply to coins – it works for all modifiers that can exceed 100%.
Example – Wood Yield:
You have 36% wood yield
→ 36% chance to get a second piece of wood when breaking a block.
You have 136% wood yield
→ You always get two pieces of wood.
→ Plus, a 36% chance to get a third.
The same applies to essence chance, rare drop chance, and other values. Multiplying numbers randomly is gone – instead, bonuses stack logically.
700% essence chance means: you get seven extra essences in addition to the normal drops.
